Ro David Ganzon passed away at the age of 22 on March 9, 2024, in Okinawa, Japan. Although Ro left our lives suddenly and far too soon, he touched the lives of so many people across this great world. Ro did not realize the enormous impact he made on so many people, but we hope that he is looking down from heaven with a smile. Ro was funny, goofy, and had a very dry sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face, but what we will remember most is that Ro was a very gentle, kind, giving person with a very pure heart. He was a great listener, and was always taking care of and watching out for others, especially his family and closest friends. Ro was a very loving son and brother, and a great friend to a precious few. Ro loved to read, play video games, collect comic books, pokémon cards, and stuffed animals from vending machines, but most of all he loved animals, especially dogs. He had a very gentle soul and dogs were drawn to him. Ro left us as a Specialist in the United States Army. He chose Japan for his first deployment and quickly fell in love with the Japanese culture and its people. In the Army, he belonged to Charlie Battery in the 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Ro served as the unit’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Specialist. He was in the Army for only two years yet made great strides in such a short period of time. His Awards and Achievements include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon. Ro is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving parents Desirée and Joseph Ganzon, his grandparents Judy and Jack Ferrante, his aunt and uncle Dawn and Al Beacher, his sister Christina, his nephew Mateo and aunt Sylvia, many friends, his brothers and sisters in arms, including all of the members of his Snake Eyes Family, and the entire formation of the 537 Soldiers he supported. We as Ro’s parents are incredibly proud of him and are extremely grateful for the wonderful memories he left us with. We thank you Ro for your dedication, commitment, and service to this great country we call home. Because of your bravery my son, we are the Land of the Free! One day we will be reunited and until then you will be held very close in our hearts. You are loved beyond measure, and we will always call you our Hero! ❤
