

December 13th 2015, God called Robert home.
Passed peacefully away to heaven at home, at 93.
Born to Cecil Claude Bold, his father, and mother,
Eda Laura Wiley Bold, in Chaseley, N.D.
Moved with his family to San Jose, CA 1933.
Married his sweetheart, Verna Mae “Pat” Devlin,
Bold in August, 1942, of Hayward, CA, and shared
69 years together.
Attended San Jose Technical School, and began
Work at several local radio stations, KFBK in
Sacramento. Then began his own business,
in electrical contracting, Bold Electric. Worked
for Aerojet during the space program, when the
program ended, continued on with Bechtel,
San Francisco, CA, and retired.
A hobby he liked since 11 yrs old, was making
Crystal radio sets. Which led to becoming a
Morse code operator, and a ham radio operator
All of his life, known as W6RDC.
Served in WWII as a navigator and Morse code
Operator, flew 31 trips over the Pacific during
His time with the USAF Consolidated Vultee
Aircraft Corp ATC Group, and Honorable
Discharge Aug. 14th, 1945.
Robert designed, wired his own home, help
Build it, in 1952 with his family, moved in.
A resident of Sacramento 70 years.
Then followed by building their summer vacation
Cabin at Lake Tahoe, spent many summers with the
Family, skiing, hiking, bike riding and swimming.
Build a 32’ Westsail sailboat in the side yard of
the garage with Jack, his son, his “chief” he always
called him. Jack worked many hours, designing
the teak wood for the interior of the sailboat.
Finally, “Tauri” they named her and launched her in
1985. Enjoyed cruising and sailing in the Delta and
Bay areas.
Preceded in death by his father, and mother;
Sisters, Hazel Eda “Dolly” Bold Biddle, Carol
Belle Bold Warner, Dorthy Jean Bold Emerson
O’Neil, his brother, Lee Wiley Bold, Grandson,
Brett Harlan Jones, his wife of 69 years, Verna
Mae “Pat” Bold, their son, Jack Dale Bold, and
Great-Grandson, Matthew Eastman.
He is survived by his children, Janice Lynn Bold
Jones, James Robert Bold, Judith Lee Bold Lambert,
Jerri Ann Bold Kehoe, 7 Grandchildren and 12
Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Dec. 30th, 10-11AM at
Mount Vernon Memorial Park, at The Church
Of the Valley, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks,
CA 95628. Services at the chapel, 11-12PM,
Graveside Honor Guard a veteran of WWII. We

Robert’s life.
