Robert (Bob) Allen Hoy (64) died on Thursday August 4th of complications from Covid. He was born in Sacramento on May 14th1958 and lived most of his life in the Sacramento area, except for a few years in the 1970’s when his family lived in Oxnard, CA.
Bob attended American River College where he majored in Communications. He worked for several local family-style restaurants as a young man, but spent most of his career employed by several local parking companies. He liked to create artwork, utilizing mediums such as ink, chalk, and paint as well as computer-generated pieces. His greatest passion was music – he was a true audiophile. He especially liked 60’s/70’s Rock-n-Roll, Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal from all parts of the world and, of course, anything Beatles. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at a local record store where they would talk for hours about recording artists past and present. He had a quick-witted sense of humor and it was nearly impossible to beat him at any board game.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Allen Hoy, Jr. and Marcia Lynn Hoy-Christensen, and his step-father, Frederick Christensen. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Thomas Scharf of Oxnard; his brother and sister-in-law Richard Hoy and Tari Patterson of North Highlands; nephew Jason Scharf of Tehachapi; grandniece Maliyah Scharf of Oxnard; and niece and grandnephew Amy and David Patterson of North Highlands. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.
We love you and will miss you very much.
