

Robert was born on September 13, 1922 to James “Walter” Shaw and Edith Gertrude Baker in Wichita, Kansas. Robert grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita High School East, Class of 1940. He met and married Betty Pease Pratz in 1944 in Wichita. After their wedding on December 29, 1946 Robert and Betty lived in Manhattan Kansas as Robert completed his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1948, a Bachelor of Business from Oklahoma City University in 1954 and Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Oklahoma City University in 1961.
His professional achievements include: Registered Professional Engineer, State of Oklahoma and being admitted to practice law before: The Supreme Court of the United States of America; U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia, U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit; U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit; U.S. Federal District Court, W.D. Oklahoma; Courts in the District of Columbia; Courts in the State of Oklahoma; and Courts in the State of Texas. In February 2010, Robert received a certificate for completing 50 years as a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and was a member of the American Bar Association. Robert served his country, joining the Army Enlisted Reserve Corp. in June 1943 and completing his basic training at Camp Callan in San Diego, California. He then returned to college for the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) at UC Berkeley. In March 1944, the Army closed the ASTP program and Robert was assigned to the 11th Armored Division, Headquarters Company, 56th Armored Engineer Battalion at Camp Cooke. In August 1944, the 11th Armored Division transferred to the European Theatre of Operations, via the Queen Mary, which anchored in Gerouck, Scotland. Robert arrived at Omaha Beach in September 1944 and the 11th Armored Division became one of General Patton’s Divisions to break through to Bastone. The 11th Armored Division helped to liberate the concentration camp Mauthausen in Germany on May 5, 1945.
Robert has four daughters Nancy, Shirley, Janet and Susan. His grandchildren are Tricia, Michele, Carolyn, Laura, William, Emily, Alisa, Christine, Denise and Little Tricia; Great grandchildren Austin, Cody, Colt, Stetson, Emery, Reece, Landon and Jackson.
