

Roger “Papa” Allan Caron, born Jan 13, 1933 in Bismark, North Dakota passed away peacefully on May 31 in Fair Oaks, California. He grew up in Salinas, CA where he was known as a “little Fred Astaire” because he is an avid trumpet player and whistler. He is preceded in death by his mother Grace, father William, brother Wayne, and son Mark. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Sue; daughter Jan Long (Brad), son Rick (DeAnna); brother Vern Caron; grandsons Jerrett Ryan and Kyle; great grandsons Jaden, Kellan, Connor, and Austin.
“Papa” worked at Downtown Ford for many years before opening his own service center: Caron’s Service Center, where he worked side by side with his son Rick for many years. He was known to always throw quite a party and to be surrounded with his friends and loved ones. His passion was taking his grandsons to Clear Lake, CA. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 3pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA with a reception to follow. Donations and/or flowers can be made in Roger’s memory to the Childhood Leukemia Foundation
