S. Bennett P. John

S. Bennett P. John, also expanded Srinivasan Bennett Pandiyan John, was born in Mayuram, in Tamil Nadu, India on the 5th of November 1933. He passed in to the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ at 9:30am on January 21, 2018. He leaves behind his beloved wife Sally Lizzie John of 59 ½ years and a host of friends and family both here, in India and other countries.

He was always grateful for the love and sacrifice of his parents Mr. Theodore P. Srinivasan and Mrs. Angelina G. Srinivasan and his in-law parents Mr. Samuel Arthur and Mrs. Suganthy Arthur.

He migrated to USA as a graduate student in Geotechnical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley in September 1965. Prior to this, he already had a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's Degree in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering both from the University of Madras, India.

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with another Master's Degree in Engineering, he was in private practice as a Soil Engineer for three years. He worked as a Geotechnical Engineer for Caltrans for 28 years. He was a Licensed Surveyor, Registered Civil Engineer and also a Registered Geotechnical Engineer in the State of California. He was also a Lifetime Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

He was a longtime member of the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church where he

was an ordained Deacon as well as an ordained Elder. He was very active in social and religious matters.

The body will be on view from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mount Vernon Mortuary and Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628.

The burial will be at the Fair Oaks Cemetery District, 7780 Olive Street,

Fair Oaks, CA 95628 on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:30 AM.

There will be a Memorial Service at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 11427 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
