Sandra Kay Urie

Sandra "Sandy" Urie, 79, of Fair Oaks, California passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Sandy was born in Indiana, grew up in California, both Southern and Northern parts of the state. She lived in Fair Oaks with her husband Richard Urie for over 60 years. She was creative and adventurous. She enjoyed many physical activities including roller skating, ice skating, water skiing, downhill and cross-country snow skiing, bowling, coaching softball, hiking, walking plus camping and RVing. She always enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, stained glass and pinball plus bunco and bingo with friends. Sandy will be dearly missed and always remembered.

She is survived by her beloved husband Richard Urie, daughters Vicki Urie and Pamela Ryan, son-in-law Christopher Ryan, grandson Brendan Ryan, brother Ronald Wermes, sister-in-law Joyce Wermes, nieces and nephews plus extended family members John Hoffman, Steven Giardina, Joshua Hoffman, along with a multitude of additional extended family...we all loved her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Sandy can be made to your local animal shelter to honor her love for all creatures great and small, but most of all, her beloved pets.

Sandy requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Sandy’s loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at their family home on July 9th at 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (open house).
