Sankar Ramaseshan

Sankar Gopichettypalem Ramaseshan, passed away on September 1, 2026 at the age of 69. Born on June 3, 1957, in Tirupati, India, he was raised by his mother, Gowri, and father, Ramaseshan, as the fifth of ten children. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Satyavathi Sankar, and their two children, Sakunthala Sankar and Srikar Sankar. He was predeceased by his sister, Akila, and brother, Chandru.

Sankar immigrated to the United States in 1999, with the dreams of starting his own business. He achieved this dream by first building his catering company, and then, a software consultancy company, Sancrosoft USA, Inc. He most recently worked as a Senior Project Manager at Technology Governance in EDD for California State. He dedicated his entire life to his career, community, religion, and family. He took extreme pride in his work and dedicated long hours throughout his life in pursuit of his dream. Sankar was also very well-respected in the South Indian Hindu community in Sacramento. He has been involved with the SVCC temple since 2001, from events and chanting Vedas to volunteering in the temple kitchen. He hails from a religious family which once worked in the temples in Tirumala, and his spirituality guided himself and others throughout his life. He often said he felt connected to a higher power and would wake up early in the morning to meditate so he could reach enlightenment. He loved to host grand religious gatherings at his house, where everyone could enjoy his wife’s amazing food and his unending charm. With his passing, his friends repeat, “He made you feel like you could do anything.”

Visitation is on Sunday, September 6, from 11AM - 1PM at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary. Religious rituals will take place at 1:30 PM that day.
