Stevenson Tan Uy

Stevenson Tan Uy of Union City, Ca passed away on December 2, 2018 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, Ca. He was 57 years old. Steven or Steve, as known to many, was surrounded by family at the time of his death.
A wake and a celebration of his life was held on December 16, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 in the evening at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Ca 95628. There will be a short viewing still at Mount Vernon from 8:00 to 9:30 in the morning on December 18, 2018 before the funeral service at 10:30 in the morning at Saint Clare Catholic Church, 1950 Junction Boulevard, Roseville, Ca 95747. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon at 12:00 noon. A reception will also be held at Golden Koi Buffet, 731 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, Roseville, Ca 95678.
Steven was born in Manila, Philippines on August 12, 1961. His parents are Zosimo Dy Uy and Elisa Tan Uy. He married the love of his life, Evelyn, on December 26. They were together for 28 years.
Steven attended Saint Jude Catholic School for kindergarten. For both elementary and high school he studied at Xavier School, a Jesuit school. He finished Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Major in Marketing at Philippine School of Business Administration. He founded the first Marketing Association in the school.
For a while, he worked for his parents’ company, Unison Commercial. Then he left to manage his uncle’s company, Ariba Eximports, where he met his wife, Evelyn. After a few years, the couple put up one of the first cellular phone dealerships, Mobiletech, in the Philippines. Later on they were able to expand the company’s product line and became an accredited military and government supplier for various products.
When the couple migrated to the United States, Steven worked for different companies like Rent-A-Center, N2Sleep, Wave Broadband, and Sales Partnerships, Inc./American Express. He was a very dedicated, self-motivated, hardworking and dependable employee and worked well with others. He always tried to help his clients beyond the scope of his job which earned him a “Beyond and Above”award with Wave Broadband. He loved helping others. It was his dream to put up a foundation to help people in need.
He was a member of Lodge 222 of the Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons, the Sacramento Scottish Rite, and the Auburn York Rite.
Survivors, apart from his parents Zosimo and Elisa Uy include his wife, Evelyn Marquez-Uy, his children Scythia Suzanne Uy, Schenley Sherlock Stevenson Uy, Steffi Shae Uy, and Shannie Sybil Uy. He has one grandson, Zachary Emmett Torres. His siblings are Robinson Uy and Guinevere Bringas.
