Wanda Evelyn Harris "Hodges"

She married the love of her life Edmond Winfred Harris on March 12, 1954, not long before they headed out West to California. After arriving in California. She joined family and friends working at the Essex pencil factory before starting her career with the Blue Diamond Almond Growers in Sacramento where she retired after 28 years. She and Edmond resided in Sacramento County, CA for over 70 years.

She faithfully attended church her entire life, and proudly supported Edmond in his role as a Deacon in the church. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and preparing family dinners, church potlucks and an occasional day on the lake fishing with Edmond. She had a special bond with her grandchildren who brought her much joy.

Her Husband (Edmond), Parents (Otto and Jessie) , Brothers Marvin, Alvin, Melvin; her Son (Michael) and grandson (Seth) all preceded her in death. She is survived by her Brother Melton Hodges, Daughters Wanda Holmes (Son-in-Law Christopher), Carolyn Davis (Son-in-Law Michael), Grandson Eric Harris ( his Wife Erica) and Granddaughters: Jessica Virga, Jenessa Cornelison, Jamie Johnson (Clif), Danielle Butcher (Kolby) , Morgan Kuczma (Grant) and other Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln., Fair Oaks, CA. 95628. A Memorial Service and Interment is scheduled Wednesday July 9th 2025 at 09:00 AM.
