Wayne Miller went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2018. He was born on November 1, 1928, in Paragould, Arkansas. His parents Otto and Ola Miller moved their family to Central California, where he grew up in Kingsburg, California. There he met the love of his life Loretta Christensen, and after serving two years in the US Army's 717th Tank Battalion from 1947 - 1948, he returned to marry Loretta on June 13, 1949. They have been dedicated to each for 69 loving years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Loretta, his four children Sheila, Russ (Dana), Mike (Carla), Al (Mikey), his 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and his two sisters Athen Hunt and Pat Bouge.
Wayne had an affinity for all things mechanical which shined true over his nearly 70 year career of driving semi-trucks, a career he truly loved and took pride in representing. This passion also carried through to his free time and love of cars and trucks, which he enjoyed and regularly maintained himself. He also loved to fish, and although they were not always biting, he more importantly enjoyed the time it allowed with family and friends.
Above all else for Wayne was his family, they were #1 and everything to him. He was always there for all his family, whether it was to repair a vehicle or fix something at their home, he was available to help whenever and with whatever was needed. His greatest enjoyment was to watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren in sporting events or anything they were involved in, he was always there to support and encourage through the good times and the tough times.
He was most importantly a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA.
