My Heart is saddened by the passing of William in 
2015. I was a classmate of his up until we graduated
From Strong Vincent High School in Erie,Pa. Bill was
Always nice,had a pleasant smile and a kind word 
When he encountered other students at Strong
Vincent, May the Good Lord watch over him and 
Protect his immediate family. Roger Smith, Class of

For the friends and family of Bill who were not able to be at the funeral, I would like to share the Life Tribute written by his loving wife Deborah and read by Fr. Dillon at the Service.

     Bill was born and raised in Erie, Pa.  He was a middle child with 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  He was the comedian in the family, always making everyone laugh.  His parents are deceased but his brothers and sisters are heartbroken at his passing.

     Starting in 8th grade, he began working part-time at all kinds of jobs - working in a milk bottling company, washing the bottles and then as a milkman, at a jewelry store learning to fix watches, for a house painting company and for Sears Roebuck in maintenance.

     He earned a scholarship and went to Gannon University, a private Catholic college where he majored in business and accounting and received his degree in 1979.

     He also was a volunteer fireman during the 2 years we dated and while we were first married.  He absolutely loved it!  It was his favorite job of all.

     Bill and I were married for 36 years.  It never mattered to him that I had a disability.  Right from the beginning he said "I don't care - I love you anyway".  Even when my health declined severely, he was a caring and considerate caregiver.  He always encouraged me in anything I attempted.  He was my best friend and my love.

     We were blessed to have a son - Jeff.  Bill was a GREAT father.  He taught Jeff baseball, tennis and how to ski.  He also was an umpire for Jeff's little league when we lived in Houston, Texas.  He loved Jeff and always listened to him and influenced him to be a decent Christian.

     Bill started his own successful printing company when we moved to Sacramento in 1990 and remained in business for 20 years.  Many of his customers and employees became close friends.  When he sold the business several years ago, he worked for the Sacramento Bee newspaper, running several distribution centers for them, sometimes working 12 - 14 hrs. a day.  He helped all his employees, encouraging all of them and treating everyone equally.  Never mean.

     He was good-hearted, non-materialistic, and descent.  Everyone liked him and he'll be missed.

Bill, you left us too soon and we really didn't get a chance to know you too well.  Nonetheless, you seemed like a hard workin' dude that was always keeping his eyes to the horizon and an ear to the ground.  Rest in  Peace.  -  Rick and Barbara Oravetz

Billy will truely be missed, he was a good student when he was learning the "Printing Craft" he took great pride in all that he did, putting me to shame in letterpress printing as his teacher. There is so much to say but time is too late. Billy you were a great Brother, Teacher, Father and Debbie would know "Husband". I'am  going to miss the headaches you used to give me. God Bless You, Debbie and Jeff. Love Bernie, Cheryl Leah and Rachel...

Billy was a good Brother, Father, and Husband. He had a personality that was one of kind we always laughed till we cried with all his stories. He will all be missed by all he touched! Prayers will be sending your way Debbie now you have two angels guiding over you:) I always wonder why does all the good ones die young! Miss you Billy!

To My "Favorite Sister-in-Law" I don't have to tell you that Billy was a great Son, Brother, Husband & Dad because you know that. I will always cherish my memories of all the wonderful times we had growing up and though out the years. Wherever he was. I will miss him terribly, his quirky laugh, his humor and his stories. One thing is for sure I will Love you forever "Little Brother".

Favorite Sister in Law, I can tell you Billy taught me how to drive, he had lots of patience. I think back when he called me "Junk Women" because he carried my barbies and accessories from friends houses, lugging so much for me, took my friends and me to roller skating. Saying stuff..."Ghostly hollow, Pa turkey, Led  is not dead, London swings like a ... Phone calls at work...are my envelopes done...are my business cards ready? May you find comfort and peace thinking moments
