

Abelardo Alberto Salazar passed away on May 16, 2014 at his home in La Feria, Texas. He was born in Laredo, Texas on March 11, 1952 to Aurora Eliza and Juan de Dios Salazar. He is survived by his mother, Aurora Eliza Salazar; daughters, Eliza Marie Salazar and Gabriella (Adrian) Ochoa from La Feria, Texas; grandchildren, Juan Jose Salazar, Maria Celeste Ochoa, Ariana G. Suse and Eva Aurora Suse and his sister, Magda E. Salazar as well as many beloved cousins and extended nephews and nieces.
He was a 1970 Hebbronville High School graduate, attended UT Austin, Texas A&I University and went on to obtain a degree in Applied Science from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Most recently he earned a prestigious certification of Master Gardner from TSTC in Harlingen, Texas. For several years he was a building inspector for the State of Texas, followed by becoming a City building inspector for the city of Laguna Vista. Above all he was a Great Dad and enjoyed life. He loved his family and implementing his master Gardening skills, while caring for the yard. He appreciated teaching his children about the simple things in life such as: star gazing, baseball, and jazz music. Abelardo Alberto was a very loving and giving person who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville.
Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Rodolfo Ramirez, Rodolfo Gutierrez, Abelardo Perez, Dimas Dimas, Diego Villarreal and Romeo Valdez
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Lee Henry and Xavier Benavides
