Aida N. Rodriguez

Aida N. Rodriguez gained her place in Heaven at the right hand of Jesus when she peacefully departed from her earthly body on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her home in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1939, in San Diego, Texas, to Guadalupe Navarro and Juanita Rodriguez Navarro.

Aida lived 87 beautiful years as one of the sweetest, kindest, and most loving people anyone could ever have the blessing of knowing. She was truly an angel on earth and lived as sinless as humanly possible. She had a gentle heart, unwavering faith in the Lord, and kindness that came so naturally to her. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she carried herself with humility, compassion, and love for others.

Aida's life was one of sacrifice and devotion from an early age. In the sixth grade, she made the difficult decision to leave school in order to help care and provide for her siblings. Her heart has always been focused on taking care of the people she loved. As the great provider she was, she taught herself how to sew and worked for many years as a seamstress, mending clothing for people throughout her community. She was also an incredible cook, and the wonderful aromas that came from her kitchen were enough to make anyone feel at home. She had an undeniable sweet tooth and love for desserts; it was only fitting that such a sweetheart of a woman had a special love for all things sweet. Through her hands and heart, she was always finding a way to help others. She never wanted to be an inconvenience or a burden to anyone. Instead, she wanted to be someone others could depend on, and that she was for her entire life.

She was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, but perhaps no one felt her love more deeply than her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana.” She was the kind of mother and grandmother who cannot be replaced, the kind whose love made a house feel like home. She helped raise her grandchildren and gave them memories, love, and guidance that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Aida also adored her great-grandchildren, and although they were not blessed with as much time with her as they deserved, the time they shared built a bond of unconditional love that will forever remain etched in their hearts.

Aida was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Navarro and Juanita Rodriguez Navarro; her beloved husband, Misael Rodriguez; her infant daughter, Maryjane Rodriguez; and her siblings, Pacifica Navarro, David Navarro, Lilly Ortiz, Maximo Navarro, Raul Navarro, Israel Navarro, Jacinto Navarro, and Janie Moreno.

Left behind to cherish her memory and carry on her remarkable legacy are her daughters, Mary Jane Cruz of Falfurrias, Texas, and Ramona Garza of Kingsville; her brother, Gavino Navarro of Falfurrias; her sisters, Anita Rodriguez of Premont, Texas, and Theresa Flores of Kingsville; her grandchildren, Danika Montgomery, Misael Rodriguez, Joseph Garza Jr., Tatianna Garza, Monique Garza, and Jaime Rodriguez; her great-grandchildren, Jace Sanchez, Armani Sanchez, and Jeremiah Hernandez; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her earthly journey may have come to an end, but her love will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her. Until we meet again, Nana, you will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m.
