On July 29, 2025, Alberto “Beto” Montalvo, lovingly known as “La Gata” and “El Borrado,” went home to join his heavenly family, at the age of 97. In God’s perfect timing, he was reunited with his beloved wife, Julieta Montalvo, on what would have been their 69th wedding anniversary. He also joined his parents, brother, sisters, cousins, in-laws, and many dear old friends.
Beto left this world peacefully, surrounded by his children and loved ones, holding their hands until his final breath.
He leaves behind a loving family who adored him: Maricela “Mari” (Jesus) Garza, Velma (Javier) Ramirez, Omar Ricardo “Ricky” (Baudy) Montalvo, Dillia “Didi” (Jerry) Garcia, and Elda (Malcom) Noles. He was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory and values with them for generations.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are his grandsons: Christopher Garza, Joseph Allen, Omar Montalvo, Miles Garcia, Cory Garcia, and Grant Noles.
Beto was known for his quick wit, playful pranks, bright smile, and even brighter heart. He built a legacy grounded in love, kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others. He made it a point to make everyone feel cared for and included. To know Beto was to laugh, to feel seen, and to feel loved.
A devoted Catholic, Beto was a founding member of the San Isidro Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He remained committed to his faith, family, and community throughout his life. He also dedicated years of service to the education of local children as a member of the San Isidro School Board — always advocating for fairness and opportunity.
He often said, “Don’t mourn my death with sadness. Celebrate everything I invested in teaching you as a child — and later, as an adult.”
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who visited, called, prayed, and kept Dad in their thoughts. Your love and presence brought him peace, comfort, and joy.
