Alma Gloria Guzman Vela entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 17, 2020 at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 69. She was born on March 24, 1951 to Adan Guzman and Julia Charcas Guzman in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Alma was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents and sister, Aurora “Goya” Canales.
She is survived by husband, Alejandro M. Vela; three daughters, Denise (Oscar) Ayarzagoitia of Mission, Texas, Darlene (DJ) Guzman and Darla Guzman of Falfurrias; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Alice (Melvin) Figueroa, Angelica “Angie” McWhirter and Adelina “Tully” Arredondo all of Corpus Christi; brother, Abel (Diana) Guzman of Portland, Texas; brother-in-law, Nato Canales of San Antonio, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will Denika Perez, Tiphanie Ayarzagoitia, Stacey Ayarzagoitia, Oscar Ayarzagoitia, Andre Villarreal, Annella Munoz. Anthony Trevino, Candace Hermosa, and Chelsea Guzman.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Falfurrias. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas.
