Amanda Cavazos

Amanda Cavazos, at the age of 89 years, was gently taken to God’s Kingdom on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 4:25 a.m. at the Touch of Home hospice center in Austin, Texas. She was born on July 24, 1922 to Arnulfo Ramirez and Torivita Ramos Ramirez in Falfurrias, Texas. Amanda was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She came from a long line of women of perseverance. A woman born ahead of her time; she taught herself to drive, during an era when a self-taught woman was unheard of, let alone a woman teaching herself how to drive. She was unique, self-reliant and bold. She loved to laugh, sing, watch football and stay up to date on politics. Amanda made life interesting for her children and grandchildren by the way she loved and lived life to the fullest. Amanda was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Cavazos; husband, Armando Cavazos; her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children, Amanda Cavazos Gonzales (John), Lonnie Cavazos (Nina) and Dina Cavazos; her grandchildren, Marrlen, Dina, Diana; Lonnie, Roel, Sebastian, Isabella, Stephanie, Sandra; Carmen, Liraun, Ben, and Philip and 11 great -grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
