Anabel Garcia, a woman full of spirit, love, and unwavering strength, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 25, 2025, at her home in Falfurrias, Texas, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved.
Born on July 7, 1964, in Falfurrias to Elisandro Vargas Sr. and Maria Chapa Vargas, Anabel lived a life of 61 years marked by compassion, service to others, and deep family values. She married the love of her life, Arnulfo Horacio Garcia, and together they raised four children and helped raise a great-niece and great-nephew.
For many years, Anabel was a manager for a home health providing company as well as an employee with the Premont Nursing Home. Caring for people was in her nature and she was known as being a caregiver for everyone around her. She was strong willed and even when sick, she stood her ground and did things her way. She almost always put everyone else before herself, making sure their happiness came before her own.
Anabel was extremely family-oriented and loved having get-togethers where she would cook meals, dance, listen to music, laugh and have fun with all her family and friends. She loved seasonal decorating, sitting on her porch, bragging about her grandchildren, and keeping herself busy. She always remained active, especially when it came to being present for her grandchildren’s events.
Anabel was reunited in Heaven with her mother, Maria; brothers, Dagoberto Vargas, Elisandro “Cana” Vargas Jr., and Rolando “Pole” Vargas; niece, Sandra Lee Vargas Soliz; and nephew, Elisandro Vargas III.
Her vibrant, feisty character touched all who knew her, and her absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those she leaves behind: her husband, Arnulfo Horacio Garcia of Falfurrias; son, Arnulfo Horacio Garcia Jr. of Falfurrias; daughters, Regina (Robert Trevino) Garcia of Falfurrias, Idalia (Jaime) Ruelas of Falfurrias, and Crystal (Orlando Saenz) Garcia of Concepcion, Texas; her father, Elisandro Vargas Sr. of Falfurrias; great-niece, Samantha (Juan) Rodriguez and great-nephew, Trey (Crystal Reyes) Soliz both of Premont, Texas; brothers, Ricky (Jackie) Vargas and Gerardo Vargas both of Falfurrias; six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Ruelas Jr., Jaime Ruelas III, Orlando Saenz, Robert Trevino, Juan Rodriguez, and Alex Ramirez.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias and services will conclude with Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
