Arnoldo Mendoza

Arnoldo Mendoza entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Meridian Care in Hebbronville at the age of 91. He was born on September 26, 1933 in Vernon, Texas to Rafael Mendoza and Petra Cantu Mendoza.

Arnoldo Mendoza was a loving husband, father, family man, and musician. He lived with his family in Vernon before moving to Hebbronville where he grew up and attended school.

After his father's passing, he entered the workforce at a young age to help his mother sustain their family of 12. In his young adulthood, he met the love of his life, Elma Garcia, and they married on February 24, 1957. This relationship focused his life on becoming a devoted family man which he truly was.

His strong work ethic was evident in his roles as an oil field worker and later at the Mobil Uranium plant. He was a great provider, ensuring his family always had what they needed. His wife and children and later his grandchildren adored him. He loved and enjoyed being with his family and friends.

In his spare time, he enjoyed Tejano music and along with his best friends, played in a Trio for several social events. He was talented in playing the guitar, accordion, and bajo sexto. His music was cherished by many, including his children and family. He was loved by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Elma G. Mendoza, brothers, Francisco Mendoza, Rafael Mendoza, Benjamin Mendoza, Ismael Mendoza, and sisters Ercilia Myers, Eva Salazar and Maria Leija.

Arnoldo leaves behind many precious memories that will forever be treasured by his children, Anna Laura (Carlos) Vela, Alma (Lauro) Maldonado and Arnoldo (Maricela) Mendoza Jr. all from Hebbronville; brothers, Adalberto Mendoza of Hebbronville and Cayetano Mendoza of Indiana; Sister Alva Silva, of Indiana, plus numerous nephews and nieces; 19 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jose Lauro Maldonado II, Joseph Lee Maldonado, Arnold Trevino, Arnoldo Mendoza III, Daniel Vela and Michael Garza.
