Aurora Eliza Salazar entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at her residence in Hebbronville, Texas, at the age of 94. She was born on March 31, 1932, to Abelardo Perez Jr. and Aurora Nava Perez in Hebbronville, Texas.
Aurora dedicated more than 30 years of her life to serving the community as a librarian and educator with Jim Hogg ISD. She was an excellent wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a woman whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her loved ones and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Juan de Dios Salazar; her son, Abelardo A. Salazar; and her brother, Pedro N. Perez.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Magda E. Salazar of Hebbronville; granddaughters, Eliza Marie Salazar of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Gabriella (Adrian) Ochoa of La Feria, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Juan Jose Salazar, Maria Celeste Ochoa, Ariana G. Suse, Eva Aurora Suse, and Adrian Alberto Ochoa; as well as extended family members and loved ones.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Services will conclude with burial at New Hebbronville Cemetery.
