We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cecilio “Nune” Niño Jr., who left this life on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home in Falfurrias, Texas. Cecilio was born on November 10, 1953, in Falfurrias to Cecilio G. Niño Sr. and Francisca F. Perez Niño and made many memories throughout his 71 years of life. He was the eldest of 13 children and an amazing son and brother.
He devoted over 27 years of service working for the Falfurrias Utility Board as a Heavy Equipment Operator, and over 6 years with Hubert Construction Company in Kingsville. He married the love of his life, Nancy Cruz Niño, and together they had two incredible children. Cecilio was not only an exceptional husband and father, but also a loving and caring grandfather and uncle. He was a faithful man of God, loved fishing and golfing, and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys Fan. He had a passion for barbequing and cooking, especially for holiday celebrations with the entire family.
Cecilio’s kindness, generosity, selflessness, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
He has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, Cecilio and Francisca Niño; his brother, LeRoy Niño; his sisters, Corina Niño Escobar and Sylvia Niño; and two nephews, Jose Luis Niño Jr. and Roberto Niño Jr.
Cecilio will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Niño; children, Jonathan Ray (Krystal Tijerina) Niño and Cecilia Renee Niño all of Falfurrias; brothers, Roberto (Norma) Niño of Iowa City, Iowa, Jose Luis (Rosie Vera) Niño of Premont, Texas, Hector Niño of Falfurrias, Rolando “Randy” Niño of Iowa City, Alonzo (Amanda) Niño of Falfurrias, and Noel Niño of Falfurrias; three sisters, Debra Lee (Roel) Rosas of Falfurrias, Veronica (Abel Gonzalez) Niño of Falfurrias, and Roxanna “Roxie” (Homero) Hernandez of Kingsville, Texas; two grandchildren, Nathan Ray Niño and Hailee Jaymes Niño both of Falfurrias, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
