
Claudio B. Arredondo was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the age of 62. He was given the gift of life in Premont, Texas on August 6, 1954 as the third of ten children born to Rafael Arredondo and Lydia Benavides Arredondo. Claudio, also known as Blackie, was a welder and pest control exterminator. He was currently employed with La Paloma Ranch. Blackie will always be remembered for having a kindhearted soul and some even referred to him as being a “gentle giant”. He lived everyday believing that this world could always use one more kind person and so he would help as often as he could and was always willing to share a smile, hug and kiss. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt especially when getting to do it with the people he loved. Blackie was greeted in Heaven by his father, Rafael; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Eusebio Benavides and Aurora Bazan Benavides; his paternal grandparents, Hilario and Gregoria Arredondo; nephew, Jonathan Regalado and many aunts and uncles. Blessed to be a part of a large family, Claudio leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Lydia B. Arredondo of Falfurrias, Texas; wife, Ludivina Cavazos Arredondo of Falfurrias; six sons, Aaron (Sarah) Arredondo of Anchorage, Alaska, Abel (Amanda) Arredondo of Kingsville, Texas , James D. Arredondo, Dylan E. Arredondo, twins-Dorion and Damien Arredondo all of Kingsville; six stepchildren who he considered his own, Felipe Barrera of Nashville, Tennessee, Ramiro Garcia of Falfurrias, Sylvia Garcia, Cassandra (Jay) Castillo, Dominika (Rolando) Trevino and Rebecca (Joe) Garza all of Falfurrias; eight brothers, Hilario (Clementina) Arredondo of Benavides, Texas, Juan Rafael (Natalia) Arredondo of Falfurrias, Elias (Mary Ann) Arredondo of Premont, Riccardo (Rosa) Arredondo of La Copita, Texas, Daniel (Maria) Arredondo of Bishop, Texas, Heriberto (Belinda) Arredondo of La Copita, Luis (Dalia) Arredondo of Bishop and Rafael (Sylvia) Arredondo, Jr. of Kingsville; one sister, Noemi (Ramiro) Regalado of Falfurrias; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias.
