Concepcion “Connie” Solis Bayarena entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at a nursing home in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 91. She was born on December 5, 1926 to Juan Solis and Antonia Perez Solis in Sebastian, Texas. Later in life she moved to Lyford, Texas and then made her home in Encino, Texas with her husband, Maximo T. Bayarena, Sr. In her spare time, Connie loved to read, bake, cook and spend time with her family. She was well known for her Pan De Polvo cookies, as she would bake over 3000 pounds every Christmas holiday and ship them all over the United States.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Alfredo, Daniel, Tomas, Ricardo, Guadalupe, Alejandro and Fernando and her sisters, Rafaela, Dora, Ida, Maria, Ofelia and Isabel.
She is survived by her son, Max (Lucy) Bayarena, Jr. of Alice, Texas; daughters, Maria Antonia (Ricardo) Hinojosa of San Antonio, Texas and Diana B. (Jesse) Grimes of Kingsville, Texas; sister, Noemi Solis of California; brother, Manuel Solis of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Cassandra, Priscilla, Max, Jesse, Stella, Roxanne, Johnny, Connie and Willie; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Max Bayarena, Jesse Grimes, Johnny Bayarena, Willie Bayarena, Robert Morales and Brad Womack. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews and friends.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Encino with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Encino. Burial will follow at the Bayarena Family Cemetery on County Road 305 in Encino.
