Consuelo G. Villarreal

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Consuelo G. Villarreal. She peacefully passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 28, 1936, to Esteban Garcia, Sr. and San Juanita S. Garcia in Falfurrias, Texas, Consuelo dedicated many years to working as a housekeeper for the Cosby and Peacock families. Later, she became the bookkeeper for her husband, Gilberto’s business.

Consuelo was a loving mother and grandmother who, countless times, was always ready to help and care for family members. She was a friend to everyone and left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her kindness and generosity will always be remembered. She enjoyed watching television and loved spending time with her family.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilberto B. Villarreal; and her siblings, Esteban Garcia Jr., Guadalupe Garcia, Ascension Garcia, Francisco Garcia, Juanita G. Tena and Josefa G. Moreno.

Consuelo is survived by her five children, George (Debbie) Moreno, Cesar (Martha) Serato, Leticia (Joe) Vela, Javier Moreno, and Josie Nava; grandchildren, Crystal (Andrew) Longoria, Steven Moreno, Tyler Nava, Brooke Nava, Jose Vela Jr, Daniel Vela; great-grandchildren, Allison Martinez and Autumn Moreno; sister, Micaela Valdez and many extended family members.

Private services will be held at a later date.
