Diego Lorenzo Perez

Diego Lorenzo Perez was received by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 85. He was born on November 13, 1929 to Gregorio Perez and Concepcion San Miguel Perez in Premont, Texas. Diego proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. The discipline, loyalty and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. He was a lifetime rancher who also worked for many years with Exxon until his retirement. He always remembered his Exxon co-workers and treated them as his family. Diego also had a special place in his heart for his pets and cattle. He truly loved ranching. He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 38 years, Virginia Perez; his parents, Gregorio and Concepcion Perez; his only sister, Belia Saenz and brother-in-law, Leonel Saenz. He is survived by his wife, Maria Tamez Perez and his daughter, Nori (Mark) Gerus both of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Appreciation is expressed to the staff of the Post-Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Corpus Christi, the CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital and Dr. Jude M. Aririguzo for their excellent care and concern.

Pallbearers will be Travis Moncus, Justin Moncus, Danny Saenz, Noel Barrera, Homer Recio and Mike Perez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arnoldo Saenz, Luis Saenz, Hector Recio and Oscar Galindo.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
