Farewell my friend. While I don't remember exactly the last time we got to share together, there is no doubt we laughed over an ice cold beer. Continued prayers for you and your family. Rest easy amigo. Check on my dad if you get the chance. You will be missed.

Vela has been my best friend for 13 years, the love of the Dallas Cowboys brought us close, he even took me to my first Cowboys game. I was there for him whenever he needed a ride or home cooked meal. Vela has been here for me and my family through thick and thin and I am blessed to be there for all his accomplishments.
One thing I will miss is his smart mouth..LOL
Vela will definitely be missed by myself and Kaziah, thank you best friend, I will never forget you.

Vela was an exemplary Marine and an even better man. He always worked hard and had a smile on his face. He was the light of everyone on the MEU, and was always willing to help or inspire a laugh. He will be so missed. Praying for his beautiful family.
