Elmer L. Smith Sr. passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 82. Elmer was born on September 22, 1935 to Carl Edgar Smith and Viola Pearson Smith in Premont, Texas. Elmer worked as a self-contracted yard maintenance man.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Veda Mae Smith of Falfurrias; sons, Elmer L. Smith Jr. of Falfurrias, Walter Silvestro (Graciela) Smith of George West, Texas, William Carl (Nellie) Smith of Falfurrias, Philo (Sumara) Salinas of Falfurrias and Raul Ramirez, III of Falfurrias; daughter, Teresa Elizabeth Smith of Falfurrias; brothers, Richard Smith and Leroy Smith; sister, Edith Smith; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who will all miss him dearly.
A Memorial Funeral Service for Elmer will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias.
