Enrique was born on March 17, 1945, to Enrique G. Garza and Baudilia M. Montemayor in Alice, Texas. Enrique led a life marked by dedication and service. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War; he was honorably discharged. He retired from the United States Postal Service.
Enrique was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mine and Arnoldo (Nono).
He is survived by his sons, Marco Luis Garza from Premont, Texas and Alvaro Garza from Barcelona, Spain; his brother, Lore; his sisters, Melda and Viola; and his two grandchildren, Nico Garza Quer and Pia Garza Quer, both from Barcelona; and his long-time friend, Irene Garza from Irving, Texas.
An active member of his community, Enrique was involved with the Knights of Columbus, where he contributed his time and efforts to various initiatives and fund-raisers.
A faithful follower of Christ, Enrique took up Jesus’ teachings of helping others and became a Maryknoll Missioner and served the families and children of Bolivia, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas.
Enrique Alvaro Garza will be remembered for his service, dedication, generosity, and the love he shared with his family and community.
Service for Enrique will be December 20, 2025, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. 10:00 a.m. Rosary and 10:30 a.m. Mass.
