It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Epitacio (Pete) G. Carpentier who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his residence in Hebbronville, Texas. He was born on July 6, 1937, to Reymundo Carpentier and Leonor Garcia Carpentier in Hebbronville, and is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Medardo Carpentier; sisters, Armandina Hernandez and Josefa Guardian.
Pete grew up with a sense of duty and commitment that would define his entire life. He served Jim Hogg County as a devoted Chief Deputy, helicopter pilot, and a dedicated school board member. His passion was doing for others, and he exemplified the principles of charity and community service as a proud member of the Free Masonry and Al Amin Shrine. Those close to him will remember his reserved demeanor, compassionate heart, and his love for the game of golf.
Pete leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be treasured by his wife, Graciela (Grace) Carpentier of Hebbronville; sons, Epitacio “Pete” Carpentier Jr. of Corpus Christi, Edmundo “Eddie" Carpentier of Houston, Eleazar Carpentier of Houston; daughter, Edna Carpentier of Corpus Christi; brother, David Carpentier of Katy; sisters, Delia Guerra of Hebbronville and Estella Cabrera of Corpus Christi; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and stepchildren, Victor M. Garcia Jr. and Angela G. Arredondo.
He was surrounded by love and care until the end. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Arnulfo Carpentier and Rafael Guerrero for making Pete’s final days comfortable and peaceful.
Private services will be held on Saturday, November 11th.
