Erasmo Canales Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 82. He was born on November 27, 1942 in Hebbronville, Texas to Pedro S. Canales and Lilia Cantu Canales.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Heriberto Canales, Fernando Canales, Irma Lee Canales; great-grandson, Noah Perez, and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Canales.
Erasmo leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Olga P. Canales of Hebbronville; sons, Erasmo (Sandra) Canales Jr. of McAllen, Texas, David (Anna) Canales of Hebbronville, and Hector (Celeste) Canales of Poteet, Texas; daughters, Velma (Leo Laurel) Canales of New Braunfels, Texas and Lisa (Abel) Flores of Floresville, Texas; brothers, Rene Canales of Pasadena, Texas and Mario Canales of Bruni, Texas; sister, Alma C. Garcia of Pearland, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Adam Silguero, Abel Flores II, Avery Arnall, Zack Arnall, David Christopher Canales, and Luis Solis. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Greenhill Cemetery.
