Erasmo “Eddie” Chavana passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the age 86. He was born in Brooks County, Texas to Francisco Morales Chavana and Josefina Martinez Chavana on November 25, 1931. Eddie served his country during the Korean War. He married his true love, Estefanita Ramirez on September 5, 1953. This past September they were blessed to celebrate 64 years of marriage together.

Eddie was a self-employed Contract Painter in Port Lavaca, Texas. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt and work in his garden. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alicia Jaime and brother, Noe Chavana. He is survived by his wife, Estefanita Chavana; five children, Oscar Chavana, Carmen (Douglas) Bridges, Javier (Kellye) Chavana, Carlos (Lei Ana) Chavana and Patricia (Steve) Mansios; one sister, Armandina Guerra; 16 grandchildren, Matthew Chavana, Savana Barela, Yvette Moyers, Jacob Bridges, Isaac Bridges, Frankie Chavana, Ryan Howell, Michael Chavana, Taylor Chavana, Logan Chavana, Regan Tueckes, Bailey Marek, Mason Tueckes, Thomas Pena, Derek Samora, Christian Samora; 15 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
