Estella T. Vela entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 83. She was born on December 8, 1938 to Gustavo Trevino, Sr. and Ninfa Gallegos Trevino in Falfurrias, Texas. Estella loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed trying her luck at casinos and dancing was a passion of hers.
Estella was reunited in Heaven with her parents; husband, Ernesto Vela, Sr.; son Arnulfo Vela; grandson, Noel Salas; granddaughter, Carey Regalado; great-grandson, Christopher Rivera; brothers, Oscar, Silvano, Gilbert and Rodolfo Trevino and her son-in-law, Ramon Garcia.
She is survived by her two sons, Ernesto (Angie) Vela, Jr. of Falfurrias and Arnoldo Vela of Riviera, Texas; six daughters, Estela Garcia, Enedina Vela, Elma (Tuti) Regalado, Elva Salas, and Ermelinda Vela (Xavier) Martinez all of Falfurrias and Veronica (Tepo) Vela of Sarita, Texas; three brothers, Israel Trevino, Sr., Isauro Trevino, Sr. and Gustavo Trevino, Jr. all of Falfurrias; two sisters, Ninfa Cavazos of Corpus Christi, Texas and Guadalupe Moreno of California; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one on the way; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Special people in Estella’s life: The late Adolfo Vela; stepchildren, Carlos Vela and Jeannie Goodwyn both of Riviera, Carolina Vela, Victoria Vela and Kristina De Los Santos all of Corpus Christi; Ricardo and Eva Nunez of Indiana; Ricardo and Lupe Vela of Falfurrias and numerous step nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
