Eva P. Perez was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Colonia Manor Nursing Home in Pharr, at the age of 93. She was born on March 19, 1925 in La Copita Ranch, Jim Hogg County, Texas to Fermin Perez and Petra Canales. Eva Perez married Antonio Perez, Jr. on February 2, 1946 and began farming and ranching at the Perez family ranch north of Agua Nueva for the next 50 years. Both were descendants of early Spanish settlers in the area and worked side by side tending to the land and their animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Antonio Perez Jr.; daughter, Heleodora (Yoya) Perez; siblings, Elia Escobedo, Elvira Ramirez, Gregorio Perez, Eduviges Perez, Guadalupe Perez and Gustavo Perez.

Eva leaves behind many precious memories that will be cherish by her children, Gregorio (Gloria) Perez of Hebbronville, Fermin (Nelda) Perez of McAllen, Maria G. Perez of Edinburg, Imelda Perez of Edinburg and Antonio (Irma) Perez III of Hebbronville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Dennett, Michael Freberg, Antonio Perez IV, Marco Antonio Perez, Omar J. Rodriguez and Monica L. Perez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Emilia E. Dennett, Victoria I. Freberg, and Martina B. Perez.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
