Eva Lopez Recio entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 20, 2022 at her residence in Premont, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on June 8, 1932 to Vicente Lopez and Corina Gonzalez Lopez in Falfurrias, Texas. She married the love of her life, Israel Lerma Recio and together they had their daughter, Herlinda Margot Recio Lopez. Eva’s first vocation was being a faithful wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
As a young lady, she worked at the local Walgreens, babysat for her friend’s children and worked in the nursing home cafeteria. She later enjoyed helping her husband on the ranchito and it became a great love of hers. She loved dancing and spending time with her husband, especially when traveling. Her daughter and grandchildren were very much her pride and joy.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents; sister, Elia L. Reyna and brothers, Eulalio Lopez and Erasmo Lopez.
She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Israel L. Recio of Premont; daughter, Herlinda Margot R. (Ricardo) Lopez of Premont; sisters, Maria Elena Lopez (Ramiro) Davila of Alice, Texas, Linda Lopez (Benito) De Luna of Rockport, Texas and Erica Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Irma Lopez of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Ricardo (Jenny Morante) Lopez. Jr., Isaac I. Lopez and Lianna L. (Arty) Trevino; 9 great-grandchildren, Kailee, Ricardo III, AliAnna, Emilee, Aryanna, Ryan, Evan, Nick and Audrina; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A special expression of gratitude to Anessa Guerra, Jenny Morante, Lianna Trevino, Debbie Garza, Terrie Trevino and Linda De Luna for the unconditional care and support for Eva.
Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. and services will conclude with Burial at the Premont Cemetery.
