Federico Ricardo Garcia III

Federico “Fred” Ricardo Garcia, III entered the gates of Heaven on what would have been his beloved father’s birthday, October 30, 2014. Born in Laredo, Texas on December 23, 1962, he grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He was a varsity quarterback at John Marshall High School and continued his football career at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He also had a passion to sing country western music. His greatest joy came in helping the homeless, often feeding and clothing them. He often came home to grab another jacket because he had taken the shirt off his back and given it to a friend in need. He will be remembered for his unconditional love and generous heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Federico Ricardo Garcia, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Federico Ricardo Garcia, Sr. and Olivia Romo Garcia; maternal grandparents, Conse Serna, Sr. and Oralia Ybanez Serna. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his beloved mother, Eva Serna Garcia; sister, Carla Bowers and her husband Tom; nieces, Jackie Bowers and Stephanie Trevino and her husband Jacob; nephew, Thomas Bowers, Jr.; great niece, Lacey Elrod and great nephew, Jacob Marley Trevino; aunt, Oriana Serna and other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tom Bowers, Thomas Bowers, Jr., Jacob Trevino, Jose Luis Cantu, Jr., Albert Pena and Jerry Fernandez.

Honorary Pallbearer is his beloved cousin, Jorge Garcia.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams at 401 E. Texas Street in Hebbronville with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. by Deacon Bennie Garcia followed by the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. We will conclude with Committal Services at the New Hebbronville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his maternal grandparents, Conse Serna, Sr. and Oralia Ybanez Serna.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated in San Antonio, Texas at Saint Luke’s Catholic Church - 4603 Manitou Drive on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
