Fred C Hornsby

Fred C. Hornsby passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at a nursing facility in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 79. He was born July 26, 1938 in the La Gloria community in Jim Wells County, Texas to William Casper Hornsby and Rosa Thomas Hornsby. Fred was a rancher and retired Fire Chief with the Celanese Plant. He was also a Deacon for the Faith Baptist Church of Benavides, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother, Wayne Hornsby and half-sister, Hazel Reuel. Surviving Fred is his wife, Shirley Jean Hornsby; three sons, David (Alda) Hornsby of La Gloria, Brian (April) Hornsby of Flour Bluff, Texas and Kevan Hornsby of La Gloria; sister, Katherine Theissen of Corn, OK; five grandchildren, Michael, Denise, Shane, Brandon and Joshua and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Faith Baptist Church of Benavides, Texas with the Burial to follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park in Falfurrias.
