Graciela L. Longoria Garcia

Graciela L. Garcia, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on November 21, 1925 to Jose and Aurora Vela Longoria in Nordheim, TX. Graciela contributed to the WWII effort by helping to construct airplane wings and fuel tanks at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. After the war she married Santos M. Garcia of Premont, TX and became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and “Lita” (great-grandmother). Graciela is preceded in death by her husband Santos M. Garcia, parents Jose and Aurora Longoria, brothers Andrew and Lionel Longoria, sisters Dora L. Pena and Estella L. Cruz. She is survived by children Oscar (Alba) Garcia of San Antonio, TX, Robert (Jo Ann Yee) Garcia of Sacramento, CA, Mary Ann (John) Olsson of Moreno Valley, CA, Santos Noel (Margaret) Garcia, Larry Garcia, Hector Garcia and Alvaro Garcia all of Orange County, CA, brother Jose (Ofelia) Longoria, sister-in-law Olaya Longoria all of Corpus Christi, TX, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont.

Interment will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
