Gregorio "Greg" Salinas

Gregorio “Greg” Salinas entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 75. He was born on November 21, 1939 to Isaac Salinas and Sarita Garcia Salinas in Falfurrias. Greg was a hardworking man who did many things. In his early years, he was an outstanding football player. He then became a carpenter, realtor and business owner. He opened Falfurrias Lumber Company and it was in business for over 25 years. Many of the homes in Falfurrias were built by Greg himself. He would build homes and sell or rent them out to the community members of Falfurrias.

Greg was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents; his first wife of over 20 years, Hilda Gloria Salinas, his second wife of over 14 years, Dalia Diana Salinas, his brothers, Mike Sr. and Francisco Salinas, his sisters, Memita Garcia, Sara Pena, Antonia Salinas and Elizabeth Shaver and his two nephews, Mike Salinas, Jr. and Frank Salinas. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his four daughters, Sandra Salinas Chapa, Diana (Jose Enrique Hernandez) Salinas and Elizabeth (Leonardo) Salinas Trejo all of Alice, Texas and Priscilla Salinas of Falfurrias; step-children, Lamar and Risa Quintanilla; three brothers, Marcelo (Gloria) Salinas, Homer (Lenolia) Salinas and Isidro (Caroline) Salinas; two sisters, Ruth Ann (Henry) Rino and Ramona (Omer) Galindo; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a couple of step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Salinas Family Cemetery on FM 2191 in Falfurrias.
