Hilda C. Perez, 89, of Falfurrias, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at a nursing home in Falfurrias with her family by her side. She was born to Filomeno Cantu and Aurora Mayorga Vecchio on October 21, 1930 in Lyford, Texas. She married Ysidoro Perez on January 12, 1949 and together they raised four children.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, attending church regularly, chatting on the phone with family and friends and playing bingo and chalupa at the nursing home. She was known to be friendly and very social. Her family and friends were her passion and delight and she enjoyed every moment share. She was immensely proud of them and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories for them to cherish forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dora Morales.
Hilda is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ysidoro Perez of Falfurrias; three sons: Salvador (Dalia) Perez of Austin, Texas; Armando (Cindy) Perez, of Harlingen, Texas and Ysidoro (Margie) Perez, Jr, of Portland, Texas; one daughter, Maria Teresa “Terri” Villarreal of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Juan Alberto (Lourdes) Cantu of Harlingen; two sisters, Sylvia Cantu Reyes of Round Rock, Texas and Maria Elena (Rolando) Morales of Falfurrias; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias, Texas with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Services will conclude with a Burial at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
