Irene R. Salinas, a caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 6, 2023 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on June 28, 1934 to Francisco Ramon and Maria Valero Ramon in Mirando City, Texas and was blessed with 88 years of life. Irene dedicated over 30 years to educating the youth of Falfurrias at Brooks County ISD as a Paraprofessional-Teacher’s Aide.
As an avid volunteer in her community and a woman of strong faith, Irene was a member of the Catholic Daughters and CCD Instructor for many years. She also ran the Brooks County Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed planning all of their Halloween festivals. She loved dedicating her time as the leader of the Campfire Girls organization. She loved her grandchildren beyond what words can express and she took great delight in gardening.
Irene was reunited in Heaven with her parents; brother, Antonio (Rosalia Banda) Ramon, Sr. and her son-in-law, Orlando Montalvo.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 63 years, Amadeo E. Salinas, Sr. of Falfurrias; son, Amadeo E. Salinas, Jr. of McAllen, Texas; daughters, Erika Salinas-Cantu of Austin, Texas and Annette Salinas of Falfurrias; six grandchildren, Amadeo Edward Salinas, III, Andrew Jacob Salinas, Joseph Edward Cantu, John Patrick Cantu, Jacqueline Anne Cantu and Aubriana Lanette Montalvo; brothers, Antonio (Mary) Ramon, Ruben (Gloria) Ramon, Javier (Maria) Ramon and Jesus (Imelda) Ramon; sisters, Elida Garza, Maria Ramon (Roberto) Rodriguez, Armandina Ramon and Sandra (Alfonso) De La Garza; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
