The Lord called an Angel to his heavenly home on December 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with ALS. A native of Hebbronville, Texas, Israel proudly served in the US Army from November 11, 1964 to January 27, 1967. He was honorably discharged with a good conduct medal, national defense service medal and rifle marksman medal. He made Houston his home in 1967 where he worked as a welder and later was employed at the AT&T building in downtown Houston. He had a love for the outdoors, camping and hiking in the Texas hill country and the beach. Israel loved listening to music and dancing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Encarnacion and Maria Garza, brother Feliciano Garza, sisters Ernestina Rodriguez, Adelina Gonzalez and Rosana Cantu.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma S. Garza, sons Rolando Garza, Jose F. Garza (Jessica), Israel Garza (Gwen) and daughter Angelina Salinas (Beto).
His Grandchildren Kirk, Joseph (Autumn), Anthony, Jonathan, Adam, Marty, Kaitlyn, Samantha and Jacob will forever cherish the memories and the life lessons he shared with each of them. He is also survived by his siblings, sisters Idolina Hernandez and Maria Luisa Salazar and brothers Roberto Garza (Oralia) and David Garza.
He leaves behind many nephews, nieces and friends that he loved very much.
A Memorial Visitation will begin from 1P.M - to 3P.M at Funeraria Del Angel in Hebbronville TX.
