Jaime Saul Benavides, Sr., 49, of Hebbronville, Texas passed away on April 4, 2021. Jaime, known as El Norteno, was born June 12, 1971 to his parents, Valdemar and Emmy Morales Benavides in the city of Alice, Texas. He was a Cowboy and enjoyed riding horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Baldemar "Sonny" Benavides.
He is survived by a son, Jaime Saul (Meli) Benavides, Jr. of Hebbronville; two daughters, Jaimie Rose Benavides of Rockport, Texas, and Justine Meredith (Josh Rhodes) of Ingleside, Texas. Jaime is also survived by his companion, Nora L. Flores Gonzalez of Hebbronville; two sisters, Patricia B. (Robert) Rangel of Freer, Texas and Sonya B. (Tony) Vira of Alice; the mother of his children, Rosa L. (Luis Beltran) Silguero of Aransas Pass, Texas; six grandchildren, Jaelyn Benavides, Jaedyn Benavides, Jaislyn Hernandez, Jaselle Hernandez, Jade Benavides, Jemma Rhodes and Baby Rhodes on the way; three step-grandsons, Nathan, Elijah and Noah whom he loved as his own; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jaime Benavides, Jr., David Benavides, Allan Michael Rangel, Christopher Benavides, Jaedyn Benavides, Josh Rhodes, Carl Reed and Rolando Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert G. Rangel, Tony Vira, Albert Pena, Luis Beltran, Sr., Jerry Guerra and Hector Gonzalez.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Services will conclude with Burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
