James E. Ware ( Jimmy) passed away on July 3rd, 2024, in Laredo, Texas. Born on November 16th, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana, Jimmy grew up on a farm raising sheep and tending to other animals. As an avid hunter and nature lover, he had a lifelong relationship with the outdoors and animals, including the occasional stray cat. Jimmy graduated from West Monroe High School, class of 1967, and from Louisiana Tech University.
Jimmy lived in Texas for most of his life, which included extended stays in Odessa, Midland, and Hebbronville. He enjoyed a long career as a CPA. He loved to travel, spend time with his friends and family, and lived life on his own terms. Jimmy was a great cook, an H-E-B devotee, and was always willing to swap funny stories over a Bloody Mary. He could be both the grumpiest and the most enjoyable person at any gathering.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Charlene Ware, and his sister, Martha Heard. He is survived by his sister, Jane Jones (Richard), six nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. All of whom have cherished memories and funny stories of their Uncle Jimmy. To quote him, “Life is good. Pray for rain. Watch out for rattlesnakes.”
There will be a funeral mass at 11 AM on July 20, 2024 at Saint James Episcopal Church located at 112 W. North St., Hebbronville, TX 78361.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made to St. James Episcopal Church.
