Jerry L. Collinsworth entered eternal rest on Monday, October 20, 2025, surrounded by family at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas, at the age of 79. He was born on February 13, 1946, to William Alonzo Collinsworth and Peggy Darlene Nesmith Collinsworth.
Jerry attended North Texas University before joining the United States Air Force. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jerry served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Following his military service and many years of hard work, Jerry went on to become a successful business owner, operating Collinsworth Well Treating, Inc. alongside his wife, Shirley.
Jerry was a dedicated and hardworking man who found joy in staying busy. He treasured spending time outdoors with his family. Jerry’s home was always open to family and friends, where he loved to entertain, cook, and spend quality time with those he cared about. He had a generous spirit and loved life.
Jerry was a pillar of strength, a man of integrity, an excellent provider and cherished by his family. His legacy as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and businessman will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Charles Short.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shirley Townsend Collinsworth of Falfurrias; his children: daughters, Leslie Collinsworth and Lachelle (Wesley) Callihan, both of Alice; son, Jason Collinsworth of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Carter Burdett, Noah Burdett, Paige Short, Payton Short; great-granddaughter, Nalani Burdett; and many extended family members.
In addition to his family, Jerry leaves behind a host of friends who will miss his presence dearly. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pallbearers will be Carter Burdett, Noah Burdett, Sammy Burdett, Thomas Taylor, Clyde Townsend, and Ruperto "Wero” Garza. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Weeks, Johnny Williams, David Negri, Ferrell “Frenchie” Lasseigne, Bill Barfield, and Chris Huff.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
