Jesus Elic Salazar

Jesus Elic Salazar born to Maria Garza Salazar and Ignacio Salazar on May 31, 1934 in Jim Hogg County, went to rest in our Lords Hands on August 14, 2014. He was self employed and owner of the HiWay Garage for 40 years.

Obtain his diploma after serving his country from 1955-1957. He also was a catholic member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Chuy as he was called by friends and family was a very active person and like to serve his community such as Lions Club, Lulac, American Legion, Social Clubs, KC and school organizations. He served as a Jim Hogg Co. Water District Board Member for over 20 years and current member of American Legion Post 357.

Surviving relatives his loving wife of 49 yrs . Maria G. Salazar of Hebbronville; sons, Jorge Luis (Mel) Salazar of Bastrop, TX., Elic Joe (Iris) Salazar of Corpus Christi, TX.; daughter, Ruby Ana (Amando Jr.) Chapa of Laredo, TX.; grandsons, Rene Elic (Jessica) Salazar of Beeville, Tx., Amando Ariel Chapa and Jesus Andres Chapa of Laredo, TX.; great grandchildren, Mia Natalia Salazar of Laredo, Tx. and Gael Elic Salazar of Beeville, Tx.

Deceased parents Maria Garza Salazar and Ignacio Salazar; siblings, Antonio Salazar, Juan D. Salazar, Bernadina Ramirez, Elsa Benavides, Guadalupe Villarreal, Ma de la Paz Acevedo, Belen Staggnita and Minerva Cuellar.

Surviving sisters-in-law, Gloria G. Salazar and Aurora E. Salazar; brother-in-law, Rodolfo (Cuate) Ramirez and numerous nephews and nieces

Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery

Pallbearers will be Rene Elic Salazar, Amando Ariel Chapa, Jesus Andres Chapa, (Teodoro Ramon+) J.D. Ramon, Fernando Ramirez and Rene Alberto Garza
