

Joe Ely Carrales, of Premont, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 6, 2014 in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 60. He was born on January 12, 1954 to Elifalet Carrales and Viola Rivera Carrales in Premont, Texas. Joe Ely retired from Exxon Mobil where he worked for over 34 years as a Maintenance Foreman. He always said he was the “Son of Premont” and was very proud to be born, raised and now rest in peace in his hometown. He will be remembered for the loving husband, father and grandfather he was. He had a passion for Dodge cars, playing and writing music, as well as playing softball and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
As Joe Ely entered into the gates of Heaven, he was reunited with his father, Elifalet Carrales and brother, Mark Carrales. He leaves behind his wife of over 38 years, Sandra Saenz Carrales of Premont; two sons, Joe Ely (Norma) Carrales, III of Premont, and Anthony (Margie Angel) Carrales of Kingsville; mother, Viola Carrales of Premont; four brothers, George (Madi) Carrales of Angleton, Texas, Johnny (Kathleen) Carrales of Freeport, Texas, Eddie (Martha) Carrales of Houston, Texas and Steve Carrales of Premont, Texas; one sister, Alma Adamez (Randy Lindeman) of New Braunfels, Texas; five grandchildren, Micaela, Mia, Marc, Angelina and Matthew Carrales and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss him deeply.
Pallbearers will be Marcos Gonzalez, Ron Carrales, Eddie Carrales, II, Richard Trevino, Peter Garza and Elizandro Carrales. Honorary Pallbearers are Rolando Garcia, Samuel M. Garcia, Lalo Gonzalez, Israel Pena and David Escobar.
The family will be welcoming visitors at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias on Sunday, June 8, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont.
Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
