Jose Ignacio Garza passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at a hospital in Laredo, Texas at the age of 78. He was born on May 9, 1941 to Ramon M. Garza and Tomasa Alaniz Garza in Hebbronville, Texas. Jose proudly served our country in the United States Army and later worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor for TXDOT before his retirement.

His is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Olivero Garza and Armando Garza.

Jose leaves behind many precious memories that will be treasured by his loving wife, Esperanza R. Garza of Hebbronville; children, Jose Ignacio (Priscilla) Garza, Jr. of Laredo and Elisandra G. ZieBell of Austin, Texas; brothers, Carlos A. Garza of Hebbronville, Roberto Garza of Houston, Texas and Ramon Garza, Jr. of Hebbronville; sister, Evangelina Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Adaya Hope Garza and Adara Faith Garza; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Levi Cremar, Carlos Garza, Jr., Michael Garza, Juan Jose Jaureque, Joseph Marcus Rivera and Juan Jose Rivera, Jr.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 8:30. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and services will conclude with a Burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery with Military Honors.

Commadre Esperanza, Jose I jr and Elizandra my most sincere condolences on the loss of Comparde Nacho. I will always cherish all the wonderful memories of your family and ours throughout the years. I’m sure Emilio is saying “Took you long enough Comparde. “ And had a cold beer waiting for him. (Just as they did while together in Vietnam Nam.)
