

Joe spent over 30 years working for Celanese, where he built a respected career as a Welding Inspector before retiring. Following his retirement, he continued working with several companies until 2020, when he officially stepped away from the workforce. Known for his incredible skill and determination, Joe was a man who could fix anything and never shied away from a challenge. Whenever something needed to be done, he was the first to step in and lend a hand.
Throughout his life, Joe embraced many roles that he cherished deeply—loving son, devoted husband, father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as son-in-law, father-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to many. His presence was a steady source of strength and support to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Perez; his children, Linda Jo (Matthew), Joseph Lee, Mark Anthony, and Azalia Marie (Teri); his grandchildren, Adriel Dominick (Cae), Jonathan Lee (Britaney), Daniel Ryan, and Jasmine Leann; and his great-grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth, Lilly Winter, and Leela Blossom. He is also survived by his mother, Rosa A. Perez; his brother, Bernardo Jr. (TJ); his sisters, Frances (Art) and Martha (Harlan); and countless nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Bernardo; his sister, Melissa; his mother-in-law, Guadalupe; and his father-in-law, Emede.
Joe will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.
Pallbearers are Joseph Perez, Mark Perez, Adriel Prieto, Jonathan Perez, Daniel Prieto and Matthew Bender. Honorary Pallbearers will be Linda Jo Bender, Azalia Perez, Jasmine Perez and Teri Moran.
A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be prayed at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville, Texas. Joe will then be laid to rest at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
