He was an independent oilfield Gauger for 50 plus years. He also had a water supply operation in Bruni.
Larry was an active member of various associations, a 50-year member of Bruni Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Alzafar Temple in San Antonio. As well as many accomplishments throughout his life, he was 1 of the 5 Board Members of Bruni Rural Water Supply Corporation, Larry and Sandra were instrumental in getting the 1st Volunteer Ambulance Service to the Quad-City area, he and his wife were instrumental in establishing a Shrine Hospital Clinic in Laredo and he served several terms as a Board Member for Webb CISD.
He is preceded in death by parents, and in-laws, James and Marianne Walton.
Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra; daughter, Melissa (Leonel) Pena; son, Grant (Veronica) Lowe; grandchildren, Danny Saenz, Leo Pena Jr., Luke Lowe, Kaleyanne Lowe, Arieanna Pena and Noah T. Pena; great-grandson Lane Saenz and two nephews, 2 nieces, great nieces and nephews; in-laws, James and Debbie Walton, Bruce and Lourdes Walton, Susan and John Schneider.
Pallbearers will be Leonel “Leo” Pena, Leonel “LJ” Pena Jr., Chris Huff, Ruben Ramon, Clark Rossi, Estevan Leal, Zenon Perez, and Mark Moglia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah T. Pena, Lane Saenz, Ralph Moglia, James Walton, Burch Muldrow, Bruce Walton, Danny Saenz, John Schneider, Luke Lowe and Ramiro Ramos.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery with Masonic Service.
