Ramiro proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Guadalupe Saenz, and together they shared 66 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to their three children.
A distinguished vocalist and gifted musician, Ramiro had a deep passion for music. He was self-taught and played numerous instruments, including the accordion, guitar, piano, and keyboards. Born and raised in Falfurrias, Texas, he shared his talent widely, forming his own group, Conjunto Del Mar, where he served as lead singer. He also performed with the renowned Nacho Garza y Su Conjunto, later known as Los Tecnicos of Houston, Texas.
In recognition of his contributions to music, Ramiro was inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in 2005 as a composer and songwriter, specifically honored for his well-known song, “La Mujer Que Dejé.” He was recognized in Corpus Christi, by the Music of South Texas in 2015, and again in Brooks County in 2006 for his Hall of Fame achievements. He was later honored by the Tejano Legends Houston Official chapter in September 2024, with recognition by the State of Texas in collaboration with the University of Houston archives.
